Peter A. Gudmundsson
Managing Director

As Managing Director of Longship Partners, Peter Gudmundsson is responsible for the operations and strategic direction of the firm. He also serves as President of Longship's first portfolio company, Design Guide Publishing Ltd, the publisher of the Dallas Fort Worth Design Guide.

Prior to founding Longship Partners, Peter was President and Chief Executive Officer of Jobs.com, an Internet employment services company backed by CBS, Idealab!, Adecco, and Hunt Ventures, among others. Before joining Jobs.com, from 1996 to 2000, Peter served successively as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and later President of Primedia Workplace Learning. Formerly known as Westcott Communications, PWPL was a pioneer in the field of distance learning content and services delivered via satellite television and the Internet.

From 1993 to 1996, Peter served as Vice President of Corporate Development for K-III Communications in New York, a KKR company dedicated to creation of a diverse media and information company through acquisition. During this time, Peter acquired eleven companies with a combined purchase price of $250 million. K-III later changed its name to Primedia.

Prior to 1993, Peter worked as the Assistant to the President and Manager of Corporate Development of Tosco Corporation, a leading independent oil refining company headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut. Peter also worked as an investment banker in corporate finance, debt capital markets and mergers & acquisitions at Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York.

A former U.S. Marine artillery and intelligence officer, Peter is a graduate of Harvard Business School (MBA) and Brown University (B.A., History). Peter is the Chairman of the National We Care Foundation and a member of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Internet Society and Town North YMCA.
